Little Lottie

Little Lottie in coloured pencilI’m absolutely loving creating white images at the moment, and this is a first for me in that it’s my first portrait on black paper. This is a painting of a friend’s daughter called Lottie. When I saw the photograph, I knew instantly that I wanted to paint it and my friend very kindly gave me permission to do so. This piece is created using 4 white pencils. A white watercolour pencil made by Caran D’Ache for the softest and brightest highlights, and another from their Luminance range plus Derwent Chinese White for the larger areas of white and finally Faber Castell Polychromo White for the fine detail in the fur on her hat. The image will be in the gallery on my website for you to view. Follow my blog for future artwork, and if you are interested in painting and drawing, I now have tips, techniques and art tutorials on my website and YouTube Channel Jackie Kirby Art.
