Original Painting In Mixed Media
Absolutely love my new painting. Hope you love it too! This original artwork was created with indian ink and pastel on a lovely sanded paper. The initial underpainting was completed in a watercolour consistency of ink, followed by further layers of stronger pigment. My aim was to obtain the textures on not only the subject matter but the wall itself, so sanded paper was a perfect choice. Soft pastels create most of the texture, but also add additional vibrancy to the piece. If you are interested in this piece or prints of the artwork head on over to my online store.

I love this painting 😃

Hi Chris yes white Pastelmat. I started with some very loose light tone washes in Indian Inks. Then once dry painted the posts with undiluted wet into wet inks which is the exciting part of the painting as you have very little control. The pigments depending on the colours used react differently with each other and the Pastelmat. Then to give form where wanted I’ve used Faber Castell Pitt Artists Pens which are Indian ink in pen form and lovely soft pastel to make the texture. Love the process I hope it shows.
